Photograph of the Month
Photo Show
For those of you who missed reading this last month, I have a show on Friday, August 6, from 5:30 to 9:30 PM.
The exhibit will feature prints from the Out West: The City and the Highway series (see photo at right), and a portion of the sales will go to fund TLC Meals on Wheels, a group that does great work and one that I am proud to support.
The show will be held at Studio 5, in the Bolt Factory Building, 209 Kalamath, #5, in Denver's
Santa Fe Arts District. (The entrance is through the gate on 2nd Street, at the far west end of the building.)

Desert Center, California
This gas station stands on old Highway 60 in the town of Desert Center, halfway between Los Angeles and Phoenix. Across the road lies a small café that's been open since the Depression, where I've been grabbing a bowl of chili (and some peach pie) since my Greenpeace days in the late 80s. I've seen the station in the harsh light of the wee morning hours, and in the high noon heat, but this evening seemed to stand well for all the others. (The chili was great after I made the photograph, too.)
This photograph will be among those on display on Friday, August 6th (see the sidebar at left).
Fine-art photographer Zachary Singer has had a camera in hand since childhood—more than three decades now. He came to fine-art photography through his experiences in photojournalism: While shooting for Greenpeace and other environmental groups, as well as Native American tribes in the Southwest, Zach learned to quickly capture the essence of his subjects.
Zach has written dozens of articles on photography for magazines such as Outdoor Photographer, PCPhoto, and Digital Photo Pro, and has taught photography at California’s Santa Monica College. When time permits, he works with a select group of commercial clients.
